Mary Ray Teaches Two Classes: Well Crafted Edges and Tucks, Pleats and Folds

$45.00 – $70.00Mary Ray is an award-winning designer, instructor, and Threads contributor! Mary is known for her creativity and quilted garments. In these two classes, she will teach you easy methods to enhance your skills.
Well Crafted Edges – Plain and Fancy 9 a.m. – Noon
Paying attention to the edges of a garment – whether along a placket, neckline, armhole, waist or hemline – is important both structurally and aesthetically. Learn techniques to achieve smooth, professionally sewn and stabilized facings, bindings, and hems on all types of garments in a variety of fabric. workshop. *kit provided
Tucks, Pleats and Folds 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Simple techniques often produce the most effective embellishment. In this class, you’ll explore numerous ways to create texture, emphasize style lines, add detail, or just jazz up a basic garment using easy-to-do tucks, pleats, and folds. You’ll learn the secrets of measuring, pressing, and stitching—and get lots of design ideas, too. *kit provided
Beginner sewing, participants need to bring their own sewing machine.
COST = $45 ($70 Non-members) per class. Registration fee is NON- REFUNDABLE unless there is a waiting list. Bring your own lunch if registering for both classes.
