Creating Custom Trims – with Mary Funt – First Session – Mar 25

CREATING CUSTOM COUTURE TRIMS:

Join the renowned Mary Funt, of cloningcouture.com, for a Virtual Two Day Workshop titled Creative Custom Trims.

There will be two sessions: Friday, March 25^th and April 1^st, 2022  

This workshop includes: 

Review of basic easy crochet stitches
Trims based on crochet stitches
Trims based on braided tubes of yarn and/or fabric
Trims based on Kumihimo braids, both 5 and 10 strands
Combining the above techniques to create unique trims
A trunk show of garments highlighting trims made with techniques covered in class

The workshop format will be a demonstration of the technique followed by a practice session of each method. Participants will create a sample book containing each technique for reference.  Materials to create multiple variations of each technique will be provided as part of the kit.  The Kumihimo method requires the use of a specialized braiding stand so that technique will be demonstrated only.  Great opportunity to learn some new couture trim techniques.

Students will need: Scissors, have a steam iron and pressing board or mat nearby.

 Friday, March 25^th and April 1st, 2022 from 1:30-5:30 pm each day.

Workshop is limited to 50 students.

Members Two-day Workshop Fee: $75 includes kit

Non-Member Two-day Workshop Fee: $85 also includes kit.
