Community Sew-In – Placemats

Let’s Make Some Placemats for Meals on Wheels!

ASG Atlanta has a great opportunity to brighten up the days of elderly citizens in our community. Forsyth County Meals on Wheels has made a request for 200 placemats and 20 adult bibs for their clients.

Meals on Wheels delivers free meals each week to elderly and at-risk individuals who may not receive nutritious meals otherwise.

The placemats made by ASG Atlanta members will be delivered to each client with one of their meal deliveries in late July/early August. We need to have them finished by June 1, 2022

This is a great opportunity to use up smaller cotton pieces and batting that may be in your stash.

The meals are about the size of a “Lean Cuisine” frozen dinner (about 8″ x 9″). Some have been making placemats that measure 10″ x 13″. Larger or slightly smaller placemats are perfect as well.

They have also requested 20 adult bibs and you can use your creativity on these to create something pretty and fun

Bring your finished placemats to SPRING FLING on April 30th and receive one FREE ticket for each donated placemat, for a prize drawing!
