Ticket sales open on July 1 and close on August 12.
We know that is EARLY to close the sales, but we are required to provide the final headcount 1 month prior to the event.
Event Details:
- 1st hour – Feed and interact with the alpacas, an overview of their care, and a discussion of alpaca fiber from animal to end-use.
- 2nd hour – Kayleigh from Plant and Peck teaches spinning workshop, use her drop spindles with an option to buy it at the end of the workshop if desired.
- Shopping at the farm store: This is a full-sized, climate controlled farm store and is available to guests at the end of tours, events and classes. The store features handcrafted items made from luxurious alpaca fiber (socks, beanies, scarves, blankets, ponchos, hipster hats, hand puppets, dryer balls, figurines & nesting balls) as well as Lost Mountain Alpaca Ranch branded apparel.
- Picnic: Depart for a picnic provided by the chapter at a private home (just 10 minutes from the farm) hosted on a large “woodland dining” area as well as a deck table and covered patio seating attached to the house to handle everyone. We regularly seat 20-25 people in the woodland dining area when we host neighborhood parties without adding extra seating.
Regarding mobility concerns: They often host guests with mobility needs, including those using walkers or wheelchairs. The ranch is flat with close parking and easy access to the girls’ herd and main tour areas. The boys’ pasture is farther back on the ranch with uneven ground that may be difficult for wheelchairs in wet conditions. Guests are always welcome to enjoy the girls’ herd, fiber demo, picnic areas, and other farm activities. Please note our on-site composting restroom does have a step and is not wheelchair accessible.
Event capacity: 35 (limited by parking slots at the farm)
Photo Policy: Please be aware that during this event pictures will be taken for use on our social media, website, and newsletter. If you prefer that you are not included in these publications, please alert the person taking photos and excuse yourself from the picture taking.
