Frustrated by patterns that do not remotely fit? Learn how to critically analyze sewing patterns to determine if they will work for you before cutting into your fabric. How is a new pattern different from one you have already spent time and treasure getting fitted. Often it is simply details. In this class we will cover:
-Taking your measurements
-How much ease do you want in your garment? Determine your preferred ease by measuring the circumference of three or more tops, blouses or jackets that you frequently wear.
-Find out what length is most flattering for you.
-How to tell if the finished garment measurements are similar to your preferred measurements.
-How to use your tried and true patterns as a master pattern or block.
-Changing necklines and contouring.
-Franken patterns to add new desired details to your tried and true pattern.
-How to use a blouse / knit top / jacket block.
-Change the fronts…or the length or the shape of the hemline.
Most importantly, save yourself hours of grief.
