SUMMARY:Embroidery ITH (In The Hoop)
DESCRIPTION:ITH has become a common acronym for In The Hoop embroidery designs\, but what does that really mean? Most of the time it refers to designs used for projects that are completely done by embroidering in the hoop – no additional sewing necessary. While for most designs that is true\, occasionally a bit of hand sewing to close an opening used to turn the item created right side out is required. Multiple pieces done in separate hoopings may also be needed\, with the final hooping sewing all the parts together. \nThis class will use an ITH Crossbody Bag design by Edie Gribler\, an ASG member who recently moved to Virginia Beach to be near family. She started digitizing designs after going to an Anita Goodesign event where she purchased Steve Wilson’s digitizing university. With her background in graphic arts\, it was a natural next step. Today she has her own website and a large following of customers. Website: https://inthehoopembroiderydesigns.com \nMelanie Leigh and Katie Harper\, two outstanding and talented embroidery experts (who are also members of our ASG chapter) will be teaching this class. Students will learn how to use their embroidery machine to create the Crossbody Bag\, which will be created in one hooping and finished in the hoop. The bag has hardware attached for the strap and a monogram to accent the front. A great gift for friends and family for Christmas. \nBefore class\, each student will need to purchase the design ($14.95)\, MONOGRAM CROSSBODY BAG\, from Edie’s website. The link to the required class design is: https://inthehoopembroiderydesigns.com/products/monogram-crossbody-bag-in-the-hoop \nPlease download this design prior to class and bring it with you. \nSupplies To Bring: \n\nFabric for bag\nEmbroidery thread to coordinate with the fabric\nEmbroidery machine with a hoop that fits design size purchased\nScissors\nPainters tape\nDesign\n\nNote: The class kit will include bag hardware\, batting\, and stabilizer. \nTime: The class starts at 10:00 and goes until 4:00\,  lunch included. \nLocation: The class location is in Marietta at the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) \n1655 Enterprise Way \nMarietta GA 30067 \nCost:  The cost of the class is $45.00 which includes the kit and lunch.  You are also required to purchase the bag design separately ($14.95) and bring the design to class with you. Class is limited to 12 participants. \nIf you need additional information\, please contact Melanie Leigh sewmanymemories1@gmail.com

Non-members will not be permitted to register\, and we will not advertise this outside of our private groups.  This is a very special opportunity for our ASG Atlanta members to have access to one of the best in fitting. \nIn this class\, attendees will come with a completed muslin of either Silhouette 3400 (3-piece yoga pant) or Silhouette 3200 (woven dress pant). Directions for making the muslin will be provided to registered attendees before the class.  Peggy will drape each of the participants\, so this is not a hands-on sewing workshop – it is a watch and learn while she drapes. Watching Peggy drape will reinforce the learning so you’ll be able to drape your own pants – and help your friends to get the best fit. \nYou will learn not only how to drape\, but the concepts of Length\, Depth and Circumference will be taught at they apply to pants. Also\, how to use the French curve and they will understand grain line and additional styling details that can be applied to other pant patterns. \nParticipants will need to arrive with a completed muslin of one of the two selected patterns. This is not a sewing workshop\, but you will go home with your muslin draped by Peggy\, and pinned just for you. \n \nApplicable Sewing Level:  Confident Beginner/Intermediate \nCOST = $99   Registration fee is NON- REFUNDABLE unless there is a waiting list.   If you need a pattern\, Peggy has made them available to us at the special price of $10 strictly for this class. Please choose the appropriate ticket for the pattern you would like to order (one per registration). After registration is confirmed\, someone will contact you via email to confirm your mailing address and the pattern will be mailed to you. Please keep the timeline in mind so you will have adequate time to prepare for the class. \nThis class is for ASG MEMBERS ONLY.  \nRegistration begins on-line January 1\, 2018 www.asgatlanta.org and ends on March 05\, 2018.   \nRegistration is limited to 20 participants.   \nChange: This Saturday Class is the ONLY available class.  No second overflow class will be offered.   \nQuestions?
