SUMMARY:2024 ASG Atlanta Annual Meeting - JAZZ IT UP!
DESCRIPTION:The Annual Meeting is the time to announce the results of the election for 2025 CAB members\, hear officer and committee reports\, and other business and announcements. This year\, the Annual Meeting will entail a few other exciting activities. We will have a presentation on the theme\, “Jazz It Up\,” from Nick Coman of Dragonfly Creative Art. In addition\, we will have the President’s Challenge Fashion Show and the usual Fashion Show. We will also elect a winning Neighborhood Group for the table decorations around the theme in a sustainable way. And on top of all that we will enjoy fellowship over a meal. \nA little about Nick Coman:\nNick has been a passionate lifelong sewer and that passion has carried him into a career as a Surface Designer and Professional Pattern Maker. With his degree in Fashion Design from FIDM in Los Angeles California\, he served as the in-house costume designer for a number of Hollywood area event companies. Nick is the co-author of “Fabric Color Magic\,” a surface design books and has been published in Sew News\, Threads Magazine and Machine Quilting Unlimited. One of his gowns appeared in a special article in Brides Magazine. \nNick keeps a busy schedule traveling to shows\, teaching pattern making\, fitting\, and surface design. SUMMARY:Table Runner For All Seasons
DESCRIPTION:This self-edged table runner can be used by itself or with seasonal inserts to add color and pizzazz to your dining decor. When finished the runner makes a self-mitering outside border that frames the inner decorative lining. With the addition of interchangeable/reversible seasonal inserts\, you have endless options that will complement your dining décor year-round. \nIn class we will construct the table runner which is approximately 14” x 38”. We will also discuss various ways to construct the seasonal inserts (e.g.\, single fabric\, patchwork\, embellishments\, reversible\, etc.). If time allows\, we may be able to start construction of the inserts.
