Master Fitter Lorraine Henry will present some\nvery enlightening insights into looking at figures\, evaluating what changes should be made and\nthe best way to alter the pattern to meet individual needs. The first part will focus on fitting\nadjustments for busts and arms. Learn about often overlooked measurements\, how and where to\ntake them and how to use them on your patterns. Then practice patterns will be put in your hands\nand you will do alterations on them using the newest seam method of pattern alterations. You\nwill learn how doing alterations in a specific order will have the best outcome for a really good\nfit. The length before width rule and how to apply it! Then our last presentation will be on pants!\nHow to look at and measure for specific curves and how to make pattern adjustments in both\nmeasurements and the shape changes that may be needed in the pattern itself! She has been an avid sewer since age 6 when she started making hand sewn doll clothes. Her friends loved to play dolls with her as she had more clothes than anyone. At age 10 experience with a real sewing machine began through the 4H program. With 8 years of clothing construction through 4H and high school Home Ec. Classes\, she had a firm foundation in all aspects of clothing construction. \nWith a B.S degree in Clothing and Textiles she has been a university instructor and has taught classes nationally and internationally at sewing related shows. Teaching newest method of pattern alteration and fit is her favorite thing to do. She is the creator of the Two Easy Measuring tape set with an instruction booklet which has been an aid for achieving a good fit for fashion sewers throughout the world. She has also written articles on pattern alteration for Sew News Magazine. With 40+ years of experience as a custom dressmaker/tailor and teacher\, she has a wealth of knowledge to share with you about sewing and fit.

DESCRIPTION:This event is being held during an open house for The Kendeda Building at Georgia Tech. \nThey expect approximately 400 people to come through the building. They will be hosting sessions\, panel discussions\, and experiential booths. \nOur ASG booth will provide a make and take opportunity to sew on a button.
